my minute poem

Write a poem in a minute. And leave the words as they came- no revising. Let the raw thoughts flow from your head, and through your fingers, and right on to the blank screen of your computer where the cursor sits blinking away all that time. And when one second becomes sixty seconds, click "publish." Just to see what happens.

Minute Poem

Words cut through the silence like birds with blades for wings,
but salty emotions linger on these lips that no longer sing.

Tell me, do you love me? I'd like to hear your whisper.
But instead I feel the cut, cut, cut of reality's cold scissors.

Faded kisses dance like ghosts upon abandoned lips,
And from love's elixir a young girl diligently sips.

His love was hope, and in hope she believes;
She'll keep loving him as long as she breathes.

But she lost him, and she lost part of her soul.
And with only a half, one can never be whole.

Now be nice to me and feel free to link up your minute poems to this post by leaving it in the comments below. I want to get a glimpse into the unedited thoughts of your head because it's exciting and romantic and interesting all at the same time. Share, please share. And take the challenge: write a minute poem.
